Abhyanga ~ Ayurvedic Warm Oil Massage

Abhyanga ~Ayurvedic Massage

Abhyanga is a rhythmic massage using fluid movements to massage warm, herbal oils into the body. The practitioner will luxuriously massage warm oil into the tissues to help facilitate the removal of accumulated doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha) and ama (toxins) from the body. Abhyanga massage balances your unique constitution, cleanses the deep tissues, opens the subtle channels, strengthens and increases vitality and longevity. This modality is also considered to be anti-aging. Specific herbal massage oils and essential oils for the marma points (Ayurvedic acupressure points) will be applied. You will leave feeling completely relaxed, nourished and rejuvenated.

Ayurvedic Healing Arts

A Classic Ayurvedic Treatment For Whole Body Balance

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic warm oil massage designed to bring softness, nourishment, and steadiness to the whole body. Embrace Ayurveda identifies this offering as a 90 minute treatment, with the sitemap noting sessions at Dayaalu on Bainbridge Island and Tilia Natural Health in Seattle. The visual reference describes warm herbal oils applied through fluid, grounding strokes that support the release of accumulated doshas and ama while helping the tissues feel replenished. Rather than a routine massage, Abhyanga is offered as a restorative ritual that supports circulation, vitality, and a deeper sense of ease.

Replenish & Restore

Warm Herbal Oils Help Calm And Replenish The System

The strength of Abhyanga lies in its ability to combine touch, warmth, and oil in a way that feels deeply regulating for modern bodies under stress. The page reference emphasizes how warm oil is massaged into the tissues to help nourish the skin, soften deeper holding patterns, and leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and cared for. The broader service map also places Abhyanga within Embrace Ayurveda’s bodywork offerings as a foundational therapy for restoring balance and supporting nervous system ease. For clients dealing with depletion, dryness, fatigue, or overstimulation, this treatment offers a gentler path back to steadiness.

A Return To Balance

A Grounding Ritual That Supports Lasting Well Being

Abhyanga reflects Embrace Ayurveda’s larger philosophy of progress over perfection by offering a simple yet powerful way to return to yourself through regular care. Whether you come for one session, book a package, or combine it with Shirodhara, the intention is the same: help the body feel nourished, the mind feel quieter, and the whole system feel more supported. With warm oils, attentive touch, and a treatment rhythm rooted in Ayurvedic tradition, Abhyanga becomes more than bodywork. It becomes a ritual of restoration that helps you move through life with greater softness, clarity, and resilience.
